In this update

  • Google Play updates that install, and updates from inside the app
  • Daily safety copies; shop data recovers after a crash or power cut
  • Unfinished bills come back after the app closes
  • Dates in Indian order, Undo for removed items, clearer number fields

Summary: MOPX 2.6 (8–11 October 2026) was about trust: updates that actually install, shop data that recovers itself after a crash or power cut, and many small fixes shopkeepers asked for. 2.6.2 was the version on Google Play until 2.8.0 arrived on 16 October 2026.

Updates that install (2.6.0)

  • Found why some Google Play updates downloaded but would not install: a copy of MOPX installed from outside Google Play, signed differently. MOPX now warns when it is such a copy.
  • Update from inside MOPX. Settings shows when a new version is ready; it downloads while you keep selling, and installs when you tap Restart.

Your data recovers itself (2.6.0)

  • Automatic daily safety copies of the shop database, kept on the phone.
  • If the database is damaged (for example by a power cut while saving), MOPX offers to restore the latest safety copy.
  • Unfinished bills come back after the app closes unexpectedly.
  • Crash reports help fix problems faster. They never contain products, prices, bills, customers or business details, and they can be turned off in Settings → Data.

Small things that make billing easier (2.6.0)

  • Dates in Indian order on receipts and lists (8 Oct 2026, 1:19 PM).
  • Receipt numbers use the shop’s local date, not a date in another time zone.
  • Change to return shown big and green on the payment screen.
  • Removed an item by mistake? Tap Undo.
  • Number fields accept only what makes sense: whole pieces, weights up to 3 decimals.
  • Search results stay on screen while you type (Stock, Find and receipts no longer go blank).
  • The scanner explains itself on a phone without a usable camera, instead of crashing.

Fixes (2.6.1 and 2.6.2, 10–11 October 2026)

  • Printing no longer crashes on phones that have no Android print service.
  • Save product works on the first tap while the keyboard is open.
  • A steadier start-up screen and a reliable “press back again to exit”.
  • Google Play Console warnings cleared about screen edges and image loading.
  • 2.6.2 is 2.6.1 with a new version number (Google Play needed one); the app is the same.
